I love a good angsty rockstar romance and Cadence is a fantastic addition to the genre. There is emotion, drama, lust, and affection that turns into something so much more! Lisa Swallow does a great job of incorporating the realities of a band tour across the continent and the dangers that face those in that realm. There are high moments and low moments, all which combine to create a story that is flirty and high energy.

This is the first book I have ever read from Lisa Swallow. I will definitely be looking up the Blue Phoenix series after reading this book and as well as anything else she has written. This story is an incredible blend of the harsh limelight and the beautiful beginnings of new love. It showcases the ugly side of fame but also shares the determination of a connection between two headstrong young people who clash but click so well. I appreciated how Lisa addressed the different issues that accompany fame. She does not shy away from the drinking, the drugs, the partying, and the rabid fans. Instead she takes those realities and weaves them into a story that will draw you in and make you see things in a surprising perspective.

The chemistry between Tegan and Jax is hot and sizzling. These two are connected through a mutual lust that quickly develops into an all-consuming romance that is full of heartache and sweet moments. They both have such different directions in life but the longing they have for one another seems to deter from that. It was lovely to watch them learn to accept the situations they found themselves in and how to trust each other. There are so many highs and lows in their relationship. They must learn to stay true to who they are but also how to compromise in life. These two are young and you feel that in this story. Both of them also have some major life experiences under their belt. Lisa does a fantastic job of balancing their “innocence” in life and their vast experiences. You feel like they are finally in the clear and then something happens to snatch that happiness away. I loved the rollercoaster romance in this book and the raw feel to their love story.

I am so excited to see what Lisa has in store for the Ruby Riot series. Cadence was a fabulous beginning to a new series, something I am sure the Blue Phoenix fans will appreciate. This book has everything you expect to read from a rockstar romance with a tinge of something more. I am excited to see what happens next in the series and look to see glimpses of Tegan and Jax in the future!

She was perfectly content with her carefree, fun lifestyle and her casual relationships, but all of that changed when she met him.

What neither of them expected was a nosy brother and best friend with some serious matchmaking skills. The two have an instantaneous pull towards one another, they can’t fight the spark even though they both do.  Until one drunken night, Tessa throws herself at Hunter, only to face an agonizing rejection. However, Hunter’s gentlemanly facade doesn’t last with the sassy sailor girl, his alpha attitude quickly emerges in the midst of their sexual tensions.

Hunter refuses to be another one of Tessa’s casual hook-ups, and won’t allow her to run away from the idea of ‘them’. No matter how many obstacles stand in their way of a happily ever after. Now he must convince Tessa that their inevitable love is worth fighting for.

 There is always a sort of anticipation when you read a new author, one you have never heard of but somehow stumbled across. You never know what you are going to get. Inevitable Love by JC Santos is one of those books by a new to me author and I found myself enjoying this story immensely. I was surprised by the way the story progressed, assuming I knew what was going to come next but constantly finding myself pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed reading a story with a type of role reversal, adding a twist to books we know and love in the genre. This story had a feisty female, a sexy twin brother, and a love story that was surprisingly sweet and sassy.

Inevitable Love has a bit of a role reversal which was my favorite part. Tessa is a naval officer, a woman who doesn’t commit but instead plays the field of her singledom. She is strong willed and feisty. Her confidence is tangible and her independence is a mark on who she is. I loved that she was the player in this story, not in a bad way but instead a role that we would usually see in the male lead character. She is not looking for commitment and doesn’t see that in her future for a very long time, if ever. Hunter is a single dad, a teacher, and the sexy sweet man who wants to have more than a single encounter with Tessa. He is a strong man with an equally strong personality but he is the one who longs for commitment and a future of familial bliss. When these two get together there is a spark of chemistry that causes a wildfire to follow in its wake. Their attraction is immediate and the more they learn of each other, the harder they fall. I loved seeing them learn to embrace their relationship and fall deeper in love.

When I read the synopsis, I assumed I knew what would happen. Shame on me. This story took a few twists and turns that were completely justified and the plot thickened. I loved how the chase was not the entire story. They build something that is a solid foundation in this story and we begin to see a glimpse into the ever after part. There are ups and downs, good and bad. There are obstacles to overcome and issues to address in the book. Tessa and Hunter’s relationship is based on a passionate connection and a mutual respect and admiration. I loved watching them grow deeper into what they were meant to be. They clicked and it was sweet to watch their family solidify as the story progresses.

Every person in this story is an important part of what is happening. I loved Sawyer so much! She is adorable and her personality is full of life and innocence. I loved Marshall, Hunter’s twin. I enjoyed the soulmate relationship and friendship he has with Tessa. I liked getting to see more about their close knit groups of friends and their families. Each secondary character enhances the story and helps the reader to better understand a new facet of our main characters’ personality.

This story has sweet moments and moment of passion. There are moments of heartache and profound hope. I loved how the story took a different direction that I was anticipating. It had everything I expected from what the synopsis portrays but there is so much more to experience and enjoy. I am excited that this is the first in a new series and I am excited to see what more comes. I want to see more of the group of friends as they all experience life and love. I am hoping for little glimpses of Tess and Hunter too!

NO LIMIT is written in the same style as all the other LP Dover books I have read. They are a quick read filled with a good amount of plot, sexy characters, and a fun new way to see a situation that you may or may not have read before. This book takes you into the belly of the beast in Las Vegas, where lies, murder, and euphoria are the norm. Our two main characters are racing the clock in order to save women from being murdered and discover who the true evil is.

This story starts off running and doesn’t let up. It is fast paced and keeps you going till the end. Whether it is the action packed case or the growing romance, there is always something to latch onto and draw you in. This book is a quick read and just enough of a story to distract you till the end. LP’s books (at least the ones I have read) seem to focus more on the adrenaline and romance than the heavy emotion of a story. Not to say that there are unfeeling characters- there are just more moments of excitement and swooning than tears and pain. I love being able to read her books and get distracted for a while. They always have what you want as a reader without too much baggage to weigh you down.

NO LIMIT takes the reader on an adventure with Jason and Aylee as they attempt to solve a growing murder case before another victim goes missing. This book does a great job of taking the reader into the underground high class world of gambling, one filled with danger and no rules. Both Jason and Aylee are such strong and brilliant characters. These two are seasoned law enforcement officers and they both play the game to win and bring justice to the victims and their families. Jason is cocky and brilliant. Aylee is smart and sexy. When you put these two together on the pages of this book, there are many moments of sweet, moments or sexy, and many moments of humor and excitement. I loved how these two characters interacted. They worked well together as a team and both brought many positive qualities to the table. In this story they are truly equals, both able to fight to justice in unique and powerful ways.

This story has one of LP’s signatures- a high adrenaline story. This book plays out live an action movie or like one of my favorite crime solving TV show. There is something that draws you in and takes you on a wild ride. I loved how both main characters are equally strong in this book. They are both trained and dangerous, willing to do whatever it takes to bring justice and save lives. The situations our two main characters find themselves in are intriguing and sometimes terrifying. I loved seeing them commit to what needed to be done and the ways that they continued to fight the bad guys. Jason and Aylee are total bada$$es and watching them interact and sneak around was wonderful!

The romance in this book added to the story. It was a bit of instalust but most stories are these days. Despite that fact, these two are fiercely protective of each other and the click very well. Their chemistry is perfect and I loved how they give and take in their new relationship and partnership. This book is filled with sweet moments and sexy moments between Jason and Aylee. I enjoyed how their love story unfolded and seeing what happened after the case. I am forever a hopeful romantic and this book hit all the marks in spades!

If you are looking for a quick, fun, and exciting read, then check out NO LIMIT. This story creates a world of high stakes that will draw you in and keep you guessing till the end. I am excited to see more from LP and this series! I love her Gloves Off series and seeing a bit of cross over from those characters was icing on the cake for me.
