RED LINES is the continuation of the story started in FINDING HAVEN and literally picks up minutes where the first book ended. We see Haven and Evan on the way to Austin, Haven to begin her life long dream of a career in the music industry, and Evan to make decisions about his future in Hollywood. When they leave the Island, everything is filled with a fresh start that is riddled with emotions and fears. Can these two truly make it in the real world in the constant spotlight of the paparazzi and the world or will it be too much for their new romance? This story is filled with ups and downs, giving the reader a depiction of what it might be like to attempt a romantic relationship with a major movie star.

This book has all the components of a classic romance. It has two people from complete different worlds. It has drama and the pull of other romantic interests. It has larger than life themes and situations. It has love, lust, and spicy moments. It has self doubt, fear, and defining moments. It is a good book that will give fans of FINDING HAVEN a glimpse into the “ever after” of Evan and Haven’s story. It is not all smooth sailing. They must learn to trust each other in an industry full of lies and illusions.

I felt like the struggle that Haven feels is real. Evan lands a huge role that will define his career and is immediately swept away to film the movie. There are rumors in the tabloids and lies in the press about his love life, ones that Haven must learn to overlook and guard her heart from. She is attempting to make her way in the music industry and she is learning that not all people can be trusted. Her naivety about the realm of famous is well written and her learning process is well portrayed.

As with all T.A. Foster books, the romance is what romance readers want. It has moments of passion, as well as sweet, meaningful ones. There is a process of learning to build trust and understanding in the new world around them that these two must filter through. A desire to protect and claim is a huge theme within this story. Two characters from polar opposite worlds come together and show the reader, in a cliche but sweet way, that love will keep them together and against the odds they are in this to the end.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR-2

He kissed her on the cheek. “So, speaking of Red Lines, how would you feel if I took the role?”

“As in, you want to be the next Dexter Red?” Sure, they had talked about it in passing, but Evan didn’t seem interested. She was still surprised he read the book on the flight home.

“I don’t know. I met with the new agent today, great guy by the way, and he says I’m at an all-or-nothing crossroads. I either need to retire or do this movie. There’s no gray area. I’m thinking about doing the movie. I can’t say I’m ready to completely give up acting.”

“I can’t imagine you retiring right now. That seems extreme. You’re only twenty-eight. Do people your age retire?”

“I don’t know of anyone. But the movie? How would you feel about me being in the movie?” He asked it quietly, and Haven knew he was worried.

She sat on the couch. “If you want to do it, I don’t see how it has much to do with me.”

“Darlin’, it has everything to do with you.” He paused. “Emmy’s signed up to play Karina. I’d be in it with her, so I can understand if that would make you uncomfortable. I talked to her today, though, and she’s completely onboard. She knows about you. She knows this would be all business. I made that completely clear.”

It was hard to focus. Evan had just asked her to play Red Lines sex games and now was asking permission to star in the hottest movie to ever hit the big screen with his ex. What in the hell was she supposed to say? This was coming at her from two completely different angles.

“I trust you, Evan, and I know it’s a movie. It’s not like you’re actually sleeping with her.” The last part came out more like a whisper. She realized she knew nothing about moviemaking.

“Definitely not.” He wrapped an arm around her. “But, just say the word and I won’t do it. It has to work for both of us.”

Her lips were still swollen from his kisses, and she could smell his soapy-scented cologne on her shoulder. He was all around her, part of her, in her head, her heart, her body. If this was what he wanted, she wasn’t going to stand in his way.

“Do it. I think you should do it.”

“Really? You sure?”

“Yes. Absolutely sure. You’ll be an amazing Dexter Red.”

“And you’re up for helping me prepare for the role?” He winked. “Because I was wondering if we could start rehearsals right now.” He placed his glass on the table and took hers next.

The palms of his hands ran along her thighs until he had wriggled her skirt up to her hips again.

Haven smiled. “Yes, we can start right now.”

“Wait.” He paused. “You wanted to ask me about something from your meeting?” He crawled forward.

“Rehearsals,” she whispered. “Let’s start with rehearsals.”

She leaned against the arm of the couch as Evan’s hand slid between her thighs. If she had to play this part to help him prepare for the biggest role of his life, she wasn’t going to say no.

Tina's Thoughts... A review for you

Written in the Sand is an incredible story that follows the intertwining stories of four people, set in the idyllic small coastal town, where anything is possible. When the story begins we meet Blair and Maggie, two best friends who have just graduated from college and are spending their last summer together before reality sets in and they have to go their separate ways. Maggie convinces Blair that they should answer an add to house sit for a family for the summer months, ensuring a place to stay and spend some time together and relax before their adulthood is solidified. When they arrive to the sleepy town, they fall in love with the house and begin their quiet summer. After a month, both of these girls are itching for something more and they are invited to a a local 4th of July bash. When they are arrive, the old ladies of the town decide to play match-maker and Blair and Maggie meet Justyn and Reid, two local guys who are cousins running a boat making business together. What starts out as a summer of no entanglements does not last and relationships are formed. But the real question is, what will happen when the summer months run out and the girls leave the boys behind?

I loved the premise of this story! It was a summer romance that delves deeper. The characters were fantastic. I loved how this book is told in four POVs. That seemed like a lot at first but both Foster and Craft are able to seamlessly transition from one POV to another, adding depth and more context to the story unfolding. I loved being able to constantly see everything through each person’s eyes and determine what is really going on below the surface. It had a personal touch that allows the reader to flit from one character to another, like sitting with a friend and hearing their side of what is happening in the moment.

I have read some books with simultaneous love stories occurring and it is difficult to do. Often times one story line has more attention than the other and the reader connects more deeply with one couple over the other. That is not the case in this book. Maggie and Reid had an instant connection and they dove into their summer affair. Blair and Justyn had a rough start yet pulled through. The drama is well written and well paced. It is never overwhelming with so many characters. It seems like one couple will be doing well and then the other is having problems. It allowed for a steady presentation of romance, conflict, new love, and fun!

This book made me want to jump on a plane and find the Carolina coast and settle in for a while. I loved the sleepy little town and the way that it made everyone slow down and savor life. Blair and Maggie went to spend their last real summer together, never anticipating what life had in store for them. The town embraced them and love bloomed deep! It was such a sweet story filled with the right amount of angst and the right amount of romance and passion. Written in the Sand was a story that I loved and an incredible book to add to your shelves!

Tina's Thoughts... A review for you
LOVING EDEN is the continuation of the love story between Grey and Eden in KISSING EDEN. I am huge fan of the “ever after” stories that happen once the guy gets the girl and love is declared. This “ever after” story delivered in every possible way, adding it as yet another favorite book by TA Foster! The beginning of this book starts months later after Eden and Grey’s reconciliation in North Carolina at the end of KISSING EDEN, when Eden is making a cross country road trip to move to Texas to start a new life with Grey. When she arrives, they live in a perfect bubble for a little while and then there seems to be one hit after another. It starts off as little things and then the an unforeseen person enters Grey’s life, causing mayhem and frustration, which almost seems like too much for this new couple to bear.

Throughout this story, I admired the perseverance of Eden. When Grey is hurt or being a moody man, she takes the reins and tries to make decisions and keep things going in the right direction. She is a young woman who had lived life on her own terms for quite a while, which means that co-habiting and making life choices with another person are foreign concepts for her. Often times, she makes decisions without Grey’s input, not realizing the consequences and frustration she might cause him. Yet she picks up and makes the best of each situation, coming up  with new ideas on how to make the motel business thrive. Her heart is in the right place and all she wants is for their relationship and the motel to flourish. She loves Grey but there are insecurities that have weaseled their way into her subconscious. Watching her battle her mind, emotions, and situation was impressive, displaying her as a true heroine of this story! I loved how she has grown from the first book and become a strong and courageous woman.

Grey was, as always, sweet and sexy moody man. Quite often I wanted to smack him upside the head. He was living in his head and not fully embracing the new life he was living with Eden. You never doubt his love and  affection for her, but he allows his circumstances (which are a valid overwhelming thing for him) to wedge a gap between him and Eden. It is all about communication! Once he takes the steps to talk to Eden about everything going on in his head, they become a force to be reckoned with. It is an example of a couple that is truly stronger together than apart!

I felt like this book displayed a very realistic view as to what a new couple would go through when moving in together. They are trying to learn what their relationship looks like. Eden is sorting out her identity outside of the academic world. Grey is still grieving the loss of his grandfather and trying to make the Palm Springs Motel a successful business. All the individual turmoil and questions bleeds into their relationship, making it a bit rocky here and there, yet they always come back to each other and realize that this is where they belong: together.

I enjoyed every moment of this book. It was a wonderful conclusion that made me happy! Well written TA Foster! I cannot wait to see what you come up with next!

Check out this interview with Grey and Eden…

When we last saw you two, Grey had made a trip to North Carolina to deliver a lost suitcase. What have you two been up to since then?

Eden: I graduated from Carolina in May and then spent the summer in Chapel Hill with Taylor.

Grey: Same ole, same ole for me. Just been working at the Palm Palace, trying to keep the summer guests happy.

No summer trips across state lines?

Eden: After Grey’s visit we talked on the phone all the time. Hours everyday.

Grey: And texted.

Eden: Right, and texted, but once we made the decision I was moving to South Padre, there was just too much to do to get ready to squeeze in a trip.

And how did that decision happen? Eden, did Grey ask you to move?

Eden: I think we realized right away that we aren’t the kind of couple who handles long distance well. I wanted to be with him all the time. The timing is actually perfect. I just graduated and I hadn’t found a job yet, so it made the most sense that I go to Texas. Besides, I love it. I couldn’t ask Grey to give up the Palm and move to North Carolina.

Grey: Yeah, I did ask her, but it was a mutual decision. We both wanted that from the beginning. And she’s completely right. We work best when we’re together.

All of that sounds intense. When is the big move?

Eden: Well, I had to finish out my lease and then my parents insisted I spend some time with them before moving. So, I’ll be headed to Texas the first part of September.

Grey, are you flying up to help Eden move?

Grey: I wish, but she wants to do it on her own. I’ll be getting things ready for her to move down.

Eden: It’s not that I don’t want Grey on the trip, but it’s important to me I do this on my own. I hope that makes sense. Of course my parents think I’m crazy.

Moving in together is never an easy adjustment.  Any last minute jitters before the big move?

Grey: Absolutely none.

Eden: Aww, that’s sweet. I’m a little worried about where I’m going to fit all my clothes and shoes, but I think we can figure something out.

Grey: Darlin’, you don’t have to worry about that. I have a surprise planned.

Eden: Surprise? You have to tell me now. Did you add another closet in your room?

Grey: You’ll see when you get to Padre.

Sounds like you two have a lot of exciting things ahead of you. Good luck on the move!

Room twenty-four. I looked at it one last time. The day I moved in here wasn’t a happy day. Pops had died, left me the Palm Palace, and I didn’t have anywhere else on the island to stay. Somehow it became home. A small, one room spot by the ocean had become home.

There wasn’t much to pack: work clothes, a few tools, my boots. I had already hauled most of it next door, but there were still a few boxes in storage. I would try to get those before Eden arrived. I looked at my phone. She should be here in four or five hours.

I shook my head. I hated the idea that she was on the road by herself. She was stubborn. I knew that the first minute I laid eyes on her, but this was crazier than hell. Driving all the way from Chapel Hill to Padre was damn near reckless, but I couldn’t talk her out of it. She said it had something to do with proving that she was moving for the right reasons. If it meant that much to her I knew better than to stand in her way.

I pulled the door behind me and turned the heavy brass key in the lock to secure the room. Maybe one day I’d be able to afford those fancy keyless entries, but that was far off. I was lucky the Palm was still open. It had been a rough year trying to keep it afloat, but Eden breezed in here and showed me what was possible. She had all kinds of creative ideas about marketing, advertising, and services we could add. It was one of the things I loved about her—she saw past the peeling paint and the rusty doorknobs. She saw the Palm the same way I did and she loved it. She loved every last pink and blue tile, the way the boardwalk creaked when you walked on it, and how we probably had the only pool on the island without a diving board. That girl was something else.

I didn’t take it lightly that we were moving in together. Who could? Last time I tried this Laura and I barely left on speaking terms. But that was different. That was Laura and her obsession with med school. This was Eden and everything about her made me realize it was the right decision. Sure I was nervous, but I’d never tell her that. I didn’t want things with us to end up like they did the last time I gave this a shot. I was going to make sure it wouldn’t.

That’s why I had to surprise her with the beach cottage. I couldn’t let her move all the way here and start off in room twenty-four. We’d probably get on each other’s nerves faster than the tide changed on the beach, but besides that I wanted her to know I took this seriously. The blue house next door meant something. It wasn’t a cramped shoebox where we’d have to split a closet and a dresser combo. It was a place that could be ours, a place we could work on together, and a place where we could figure out the future.

I shoved the key in my pocket. I had to get it back to the office. My phone rang.

“Hey, Marin. What’s up?”

“I just talked to Eden. She’s in Louisiana.”

“You didn’t ruin the surprise did you?” I had trusted everyone on the island with the beach house secret, but deep down knew someone would let it slip. Things had a way of getting out around here.

Marin laughed. “No, she has no idea. She thinks you are bunking up in that cute little room of yours at the Palm.”

“Thanks, girl. Did she sound ok? I’m trying not to bug her.” What I really wanted to do was call her every hour and find out where she was, but that would contradict her plan. I managed to respect it since she got on the road.

“She sounded like a girl who can’t wait to see you. I’ll let you know when she get’s to the bridge, ok?”

“Alright. Thanks. I appreciate you checking up on her for me. I don’t want her to think I don’t think she can handle it.” I opened the door to the stuffy office.

“She can handle it. Don’t worry about her, Grey. She’ll be here tonight. Call you later.”

“Thanks.”

Marin hung up and I tossed my phone on the cart. I had a few rooms to check before I made my way to the cottage to get things set up. Eden would be here tonight. This would be her office. I was handing over the books, the reservations, and all of the marketing to her. It was probably a bigger step than sharing a bathroom, but I knew I didn’t trust anyone else with Pop’s legacy like I trusted Eden.

As I shoved the cart out of the back door, I heard the wind kick up on the beach. Eden and I were moving in together. I knew after tonight my life would never be the same, and there was no turning back. Good thing I didn’t want to.

Tina's Thoughts... A review for you (3)FLY is my first ever T.A. Foster book and it FOR SURE will not be my last. I used to just stick to the authors I know and read everything they had but it just wasn’t enough. And then I expanded my book shelves and couldn’t be happier. This book was everything I wanted it to be and more. It is full of fun and sexy characters, authentic situations and a beautiful setting. Let’s start with the characters. First off we have Ben “Bolt” Hardcastle. He is a fighter pilot always flitting to and fro, living life on the edge and loving the ladies. He is the epitome of a player and when he meets Skye, everything changes. Skye Stephens, a beautiful and successful woman draws his fascination. But what begins as an attempted one night stand turns into so much more than they could have dreamed of. Skye was such an awesome female character. She is a strong and capable woman, albeit married to her job, and she gives her entire person to the situations that she finds herself in. Her chance meeting with Ben allows for her to explore a part of herself that has been left dormant for so long, a chance to experience love and lust. Ben is the perfect counterpart to Skye. He is forceful and smooth. When he can no longer deny the chemistry and pull between them, he decides to do something he has never done: date Skye Stephens. The dating game between them is full of challenges and obstacles for the couple. Ben has no idea what he is doing and Skye is scared of what this situation will unleash into her life. Yet things seem to work well. There is a learning curve for Ben as he discovers what it means to pursue a woman for more than a night.

Their chemistry is explosive. Their connection is full of so many different emotions and desires. The further they fall the stronger that connect becomes. As their relationship and friendship grows, they become more invested in what they have. With all good things, there are some bumps in the road, creating heartache and disappointment. Yet they recover in such a way that their relationship is stronger and resolute.

I felt like this book shed light on some themes that are not seen much in books today (or at least books I have read). I loved reality of his job and how they learned to work within the parameters and make their relationship successful. The constant separations due to work and deployments added a layer of authenticity to the storyline that I loved. The camaraderie between Ben and his fellow pilots was full of banter and true deep friendship. I enjoyed reading their interactions. With both Ben and Skye, the theme of deep friendships was something I really appreciated from the story. Their friends were chosen family, people that mattered and had a great impact on their lives.

If you are looking for a story with a sweet and sexy love story set within a world of fighter pilots and beautiful sunny California, then look no further. You will not be disappointed. The only regret that I had was that it ended too soon. I wanted to read so much more about Ben and Skye, to see where the future took them. Needless to say, I have added the collection of T.A. Foster’s books to my TBR pile and I cannot wait to see what other stories I can dive into!
